Right click start -> Explorer
In you C drive click the + sign beside it
Once the directory opens, look to see if there is anything in the Media
folder
Yes there are sound files = you can probably fix your system by running
system restore and selecting a date from when your sound used to work.
No there are no sound files = you probably have to reinstall Windows.
