RE: Error C00D1176 from WMP 10

I get 6 tabs: General, Auto Play, Hardware, Sharing, Settings, and Direct CD
5.0 Options.
I have used the drive to copy photos and to do back-ups.
I have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 -- if that's of any help. It is re-writable.
Is that the same as a "burner"?
I hate feeling so helpless and I really appreciate your help. I honestly
don't know where else to turn.
Many thanks.
