First, check if your microphone is not Muted:
Rightclick sound icon, bottom righthand corner of monitor, probably next to
the clock/click "Open Volume Control" and chech the Mute button under
Microphone.
If it is muted, uncheck it. If mike is not listed, go to the top left and
click Options and click Advanced Controls to list the mike. Second, test
your mike with the Sound Recorder:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder
Use your mike and sing or talk, you can record up to 60 seconds and
play it back. You may also need to check your mike that it can be used and
is functional for PCs without the adapters. Happy putering :-)
