Yes, you need to create the Profiles folder manually.... I just added that
note to my website page.

Try downloading to another folder and then copy/paste from it to the Shared
folder.

Apparently YouTube does not accept videos with the .mswmm file
extension. Can anyone please tell me how to save the project with an
extension acceptable to YouTube? The "save project as" pull down in
Windows Movie Maker doesn't allow any other choice but the .mswmm
extension. Is there a work around? Many thanks in advance.
============================
..mswmm is not a video file...it is simply
a Movie Maker Project file that is only useful
for re-editing your project in Movie Maker.

The .mswmm file does not include your source
files so be sure to leave them in their original
locations until the project is finished.

Read the following for info on saving in a
movie format and scroll down to the last
link for info on uploading to YouTube.

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

I was going through the process for putting stuff onto YouTube from the
link
above when I came across a problem.
In Step 2 - Make Movies and Stories there are links to the 3 profiles
PapaJohn has given and also where to put them. i.e. "c:\Program
Files\Movie
Maker\Shared\Profiles folder" but I can't find this folder on my system
which
is running Vista Home Premium 64bit. I found as far as the Shared folder
but
there was no Profiles folder.
So, my question is, where is this folder or do I have to create it? If I
have to create it, which I have done, although it won't let me save the
profile in it as I don't have permission apparently.
Thanks in advance.....
