Re: Papa John Rebooting MM

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

When running error check there are 2 boxes one says
automatically fix file system error
the other syas
scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
Both boxes were unchecked. Do they need to be checked. I ran it the first
time unchecked. Then tried to open MM and no luck. Should I reboot or do
system restore to make it work to try and do the next thing ya'll suggested.
Thanks again

When you say try opening MM where am I opening it from. I just checked and it
started crashing when I tried to open it again. I am going to try the error
check but just let me know about opening MM and then browsing. Am I opening
as if I am starting a new project?

I am double clicking on the mm project that I am working on. Never
had any problem before. Have gotten info from you about compatibilty
issues so I think I am ok there. Use wmv files for video clips. I do
defrag several times a week as well as disc clean up. Not sure if I
have run error checking. I will do the above and also try the uncheck
all filters now. Will get back Thanks.

Ok...since you are clicking on the .mswmm file
to launch Movie maker...it's possible that your
..mswmm file is corrupted. Try opening Movie
Maker and then browse to the .mswmm file and
see if the error still occurs.

To run Error Checking (also known as chkdsk)
....go to...My Computer...right click the icon for
your System Drive (Local Disk C:)...from the
menu...choose...Properties / Tools tab /
Error Checking / Check Now button.

Check both boxes...click Start.

You will see a dialog that states the task will
run when you restart your computer.
