I think it is a matter of getting organized :-)

First of all, the video exsts as a file in the SD card?
When you transfer it to your PC, do you just copy over the file?

When I get video clips to use with MM Iusually follow a somewhat
methodic (and boring) procedure:

1. I define my data drive, for example D:
2. I create a folder structure in my data drive, such as d:\projects\videos
3. I create a folder specific for the new project, such as d:\projects\videos\party
4. Inside the new folder I create more folders, such as Images and Videos
5. I get the video clip that I'll be using in MM and save/copy it to the Videos folder
d:\projects\videos\party\Videos)
6. I start up MM and having the Videos folder open in a windows explorer I drag
the video file into MM. It should be included in a collection.
7. I then drag the video in collections to the time line and edit accordingly.
8. I save the MM project to the d:\projects\videos\party
9. I create a Notepad file reminfind myself the name of the folder mentioned in 8.
10. When done with the project I burn the contents of d:\projects\videos\party to CD

If I ever need to come back to this project I need to copy them from the CD into
an identical folder structure or MM will not find the source file when you open your
project. So if the notes I made with NotePad (or any other text editor) say that my
project folder is d:\projects\videos\party and I copy the files to d:\projects\party MM
will give me a few red Xes.

As John says, the red Xes happen because the source files for your project are
not found and this happens because they get copied, moved or deleted. So if your
source file came from d:\projects\videos\party\Videos, it better be there when you
reopen the project in the future.. or else Red Xes!

I hope this helps, Saga

I've used WMM for months. A couple of times when I go to download video from
my SD card I can view the entire clip but when I go to upload the clip not
all of it is there! So I then transfer the entire file from the card to CD.
Pull up my MM program and yes the entire clip is there (in segments) but
when I go to drag the clips down to edit and put together all I'm getting are
those nasty RED X's!

Why can I view it but not download it to the program? HELP!
