This may be the common issue with laptop displays trying to show movies on a
projector and laptop screens at the same time. Basically what has happened
is that the video circuit in the computer, with the current settings,
doesn't have enough "power" to drive the movie (a lot of data at one time)
to both the internal and external devices.
Eureka!!!! Your brilliant! It works beautifully. Thankyou so much. I used
your first suggestion and pressed the F key, tapping F5 and ended up with it
through the projector AND on the laptop.
.
The fastest fix, if this is the issue, is to simply put all the video onto
the projector screen and leave the laptop's screen blank. This is done by
pressing and holding the Fn key while tapping the video change F key at the
top of the keyboard (it will be noted by having the letters LCD or the
image of a monitor on the F key cap. I have seen F3, F5 & F7 be the key in
question so without knowing your system, I can't tell you which exactly.
Press and wait at least 5 seconds for the machine to change display devices.
(It rotates through the following settings: laptop only, external port only,
laptop and external port. Your machine is currently set to laptop and
external port.
There is another possible solution for the described problem and that is to
turn down hardware acceleration in the driver for the laptop's video. Right
click on a blank area of your desktop, Left click properties, settings tab,
Advanced button, and then click each tab in turn until you see Hardware
acceleration: with a slide beside it. Mine is listed under Troubleshoot tab
but yours may be different. Slide the slide to the left one notch, OK out
and then try the video again. Keep doing this until it shows in both
places. You also may turn off Enable write combining check box (if present)
to see if that helps.
Here's Microsoft's spin on what is happening:

Hope this helps, let us know.
