Re: Help!

..MOD is the file type that jvc use and it is a form of mpeg2. Often you can
just rename the file from .mod to .mpeg or .mpg and then it can be used like
a standard mpeg2 file.
To be used in MM, you'd need to convert to wmv, so you could use something
like windows media encoder, some useful help here, though it relates to a
dvd and vob files.

Maybe a typo and should be "MOV"?

How did you convert from MOD?

Thank you both. They are actually JVC camcorder flim files (I have
converted
them from MOD to MPG files). I've already tried some of the forums, but
am
quite computer-dumb so am having a hard time!

I have access to a vista and xp computer so have tried on both. Vista is
actually the problem above (i know its an xp forum but thought I would
try
anyway), and when I try and import the files on xp I get a funny message
about interfaces. I googled this and it turns out to be a common
problem.
However the answer was pretty tough to follow and varied...I know I need
a
codec, but its a little tricky to understand exactly how to get it and
which
one I need specifically...

Sorry for the long-winded response...if anyone does know how to help me
with
this in simple computer speak, please let me know! Thank you.

I'm creating 13 different movies using MM...one for each day of a
holiday I've just been on.
At the start of each I have a title with the date and then a fade
into the first clip.

This works FINE for about 8 of the 13. Others tho allow me to do
this
and then save. But when I come back there is just a black preview
screen and it won't let me play!

Please help!

You may have some incompatibility issues
with your source files. Have a look at the

I'm guessing you are using still pictures?
Try converting them to .bmp and see if
it makes any improvement.

Also try using PhotoStory 3 which was
designed for use with still pictures:
