Just as alittle extra, a movie project .mswmm file created in XP can be
taken to Vista and it will work ok.
Once used in Vista it cannot go back into XP.

Moving projects from one pc to another also entails moving all of the
project files, so any pictures/audio/video that is used, regardless of
whetehr you are going from XP to XP or XP to Vista.

Thank you. My son and another boy are working on a class video

=======================================
5.1 is your Windows Version and 2.1 is Movie Maker.

If they create the .wmv movie files they should have
no problem sharing and viewing the clips.

Here's some steps to use on the Windows XP 2.1
version:

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Also, you may find it useful to use
a custom profile:

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...
