try opening the project file in Bruce Shankle's Windows Movie Maker
Utility.... a free download from
http://www.bruceshankle.com/_mgxroot/page_10765.html
if it opens it and lists the source files, than there's a chance it's not
corrupt beyond repair.... if not, it's a second strike against it, after
Movie Maker being the first.
The 3rd pitch would be to take a copy of the project file to another
computer and open it.... the source files are not needed to open a project
file in Movie Maker....

In MS Movie Maker, I have a large project with about 1500 photos, music
and
transitions etc. In the middle of previewing the movie, it stopped with
the
message insufficient memory. After defragging and using Norton Speed up, I
can see the saved project in my file, look at its properties etc, but when
wanting to open it, I get the following message.
"The file "C:\DOCUMENT\....etc.MSWMM" could not be found. Verify that the
file has not been deleted, renamed, or moved, and then try again."
This is rather puzzling, as I can open other projects without problems.
Any advice on how to open this project would be much appreciated as I have
10 mates each expecting to receive a DVD of our surfing trip to the
Mentawais
very soon.
