Hi All==========================================
I might be being a bit thick here, but can moviemaker allow me to do
the following with a video file (AVI):
1) Blur out somebody's face. The videos are of pre-school kids and
some kids aren't allowed on the movies, but they always have a knack
of wandering into shot.
The following info was recently posted
by MVP Graham Hughes:
MM can't do this naturally, but there are ways round it.

Do another search on that forum and you'll come up with more threads to try.

2) Mute the sound at certain times. Again, certain conversations===========================================
might be picked up in the background that we don't want on film, so
the ability to mute out the sound at opportune times is vital.
Split the clip on both sides of the audio
that needs to be muted...right click the
section in question and choose Mute.
Maybe something in the following
tutorial will work for you:
"Splitting A Clip In MM2.1"
Drag the video/audio clip to the
Timeline.
Play the video/audio by clicking the
"Play" button under the view screen.
You will see the Playback Indicator
(vertical line) advancing across the
timeline.
Click the "Pause" button at the point
where you wish to trim and type...
Ctrl+L or click the "Split" button at the
bottom of the view screen.
(you can also make adjustments by
dragging the Playback Indicator)
Make as many splits as you want and
remove the unwanted clips by right
click / delete...or mute the clips by right
click / mute
