Just a thought...when re-registering shmedia.dll...
did you receive the following dialog:
"DllRegisterServer in shmedia.dll succeeded"?

Sorry, I don't have a specific fix for you...maybe
the following articles will offer some ideas. And...
I may be totally off target...Good luck...
