Hi - and thanks for reading this.
I am running Windows XP SP2 and MM 2.1. I have just got a Canon MVX460 and
when I transfer the video into MM I am getting little pixel boxes flash up
on the screen every few seconds. It shows on the import and also on the
video when I play it back from MM - but it's fine on the camera. I also
get little 'sizzles' on the audio. The video itself looks fine in MM -
apart from the problems mentioned. It's not distorted or poor quality but
I don't know why I'm having the problems.
My machine is an Athlon AMD 2400+ with a gig of RAM.
I have already been advised not to use the C drive and to make sure that
nothing else is running, but the result is the same.
Thanks for any help.
It "could" be dropped frames as you suggested or it "could" be a bad IEEE
cable or card.
Have a look at this article about optimizing your computer for capture:
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/OptimiseMyPcForVideo.htm
Try the things Graham suggests here and then recapture.
If it's better voila!
If not try your cable on a friends computer or a computer at your local
computer store as well as trying
with another cable to try to determine if your cable is bad or maybe your
IEEE card.
Another thought. Is the tape your using a new one or has it been used
several times?
