movie maker not responding

I am very new to this work but had hoped to create my first DVD from old
photos I have scanned. Every think I wish to add to the collections takes
minute not seconds and in the middle of all the waiting it says very simply
" not responding" so I am finally forced to shut down and try later with the
same results. I am using Windows XP Pro Pak 2. Ant help would be
appreciated Gwen Kelly
