Hi;
I use colouring effects of equal increases of red, blue and green where video is too dark.
It works for me without loss of brightness and I havent been able to pick any substantial colur variation (though I know there should be)

Scroll down to the section about Dark Video... using Levels adjustments in other apps is better than using the brightness effect in Movie Maker.
