Re: WMM2 as [free] Nannycam

It seems you are pretty much stuck on this idea. Note that WMM was not
designed for "nanny-camming" (is that a word?). Any use of it for such a
purpose is coincidental. Therefore the limits you mention exist in MM by
design since to have those limits made more sense (to its designers) for its
primary purpose. For example if a video capture was going along and a
processor intensive screensaver kicked in, that would have resulted in
severe drop of quality and frame rate. Your argument that because it allows
a time-limit capture is all that is needed, is not good enough. A nanny cam
application requires a lot more than that.

Windows Media Encoder is also capable of timelimit capture and on top of
that it can stream the video over the internet. So i would argue it is more
appropriate for nanny camming if at all.

There exist many other proper applications and systems designed specifically
for nanny camming. Why dont you want to use those? Ah... because they cost a
bit? Is your child's safety and well being so unimportant that you just want
to consider free applications such as WMM which only has a limited feature
set for nanny camming?
