Sounds like a good place to put a transition. This would allow you to split
the video (..or trim it) around the overexposure area and make it part of the
editing process.
A filter is not the answer. PapaJohn is right about using a setting other
than the auto setting. My Z65 does the same thing yours does inside around
bright light sources. That section of video just winds up in the mess on the
cutting room floor ;0)
