    If you are using MM2.
    File
    save movie file (ctrl P)
    My computer
    enter name of file and choose location
    Show more choices
    Other settings
    dv-avi from the drop down list.

    You need to start with capturing a dv-avi file to get this option, it will
    not work if you captured as a wmv or are using mpeg.
