Hi again !
Thanks to everybody for their input !
As I had follwed Kristen's instructions I began looking for other
problems. During this processthe freeware capture program Scenalizer
confirmed that the NTSC/PAL issue was causing the problem as it
(opposed to Microsoft Movie Maker and Premiere Pro)came up with an
error message...
Therefore I went back to the msdv.sys issue and noticed that even
though I pasted the old msdv.sys file into windows\system32\dllcache,
and accepted to overwrite the original file, the new version remained.
So after trying a few times I finally deleted the new msdv.sys file
before I pasted in the old version.
I believe this did the trick....And I am now confirmed by reading
Dean's message. Perhaps in this case Windows the file protection
system is a little bit to "clever", as I accepted to overwrite the
file and it appeared to do so...Or maybe I should not have named the
computer HAL...;-)
Anyway, many thanks to Kristen and Dean from MS and everybody else who
have contributed to the solution. A very big problem for me has been
solved !
Best regards
Erik
PS: I kindly encourage MS to issue a hotfix or to post the procedure
on its website...Other must me going through the same frustrations as
I was...
