Newbie! How to transfer from MiniDV to Computer. Help!

Photos on the memory card in your camcorder are indeed
transferred via USB but the video on the tape must be
transferred via Firewire cable to your computer. My JVC
MiniDV camcorder did not come with a firewire cable so it
had to be purchased separately. I bought a 4pin to 6pin
cable to accomplish the transfer. After cabling camcorder
to firewire port on computer, set camcorder to "Play" mode
to capture the video into Movie Maker. Have fun.
