Piper,

I run Pinnacle Studio 8.8 on my laptop with MM1 and MM2 and have never had a
conflict or new Movie Maker issue as a result of installing Studio.

Studio 8 came with my Dazzle 80 a few months ago and I use it regularly.

I know it doesn't help your problem(s).

reformatting a hard drive; or for that matter uninstalling and reinstalling

handles stills and videos when bringing them out of the collection and into
the storyboard. If there are specific libraries or routines that are used
for stills and not videos it seems like the problem should be isolated to
those files that provide those routines or codecs.

would think the good people at Microsoft would have some idea though.

3rd party video suite, Pinnacle's Studio 8, and that the problem will not go
away unless I run MM2 without Studio 8 installed on my machine.

on this forum or the Pinnacle forum that would suggest such a direct
conflict exists.

it is greatly appreciated by many of us.
