    With Movie Maker there are two video output formats, these are WMV and
DV-AVI.

    DV-AVI can be of various sizes and all of them are quite close to 720 x
576

    WMV sizes can vary greatly between just a few pixels square up to at
least DV-AVI sizes and beyond.

    When you save your movie via the FILE > SAVE MOVIE FILE option, you get
a dialog which as you progress through asks a number of questions. One of
which will be what format do you want. At that point you specify either
DV-AVI or one of the WMF formats.

    Most, if not all, DVD creation programs will accept DV-AVI as an
acceptable format, so maybe you offered it a WMV file instead of an AVI file
