I'm wondering if Windows is even seeing your camcorder.
When I plug in my DV camcorder (DCR-TRV9 in my case) and then turn it to VTR
mode, (Movie Maker not running) I hear windows recognise it (there is a
sound played), and then it gives me a dialog box with choices that include
Movie Maker and MyDVD (which I also have installed). Does that happen in
your case?
