Greetings Margaret,
MSConfig will not work as it simply disables, not removes the entry and Messenger will load
anyway. Instead, just double-click the Messenger icon running in the notification area,
choose Tools, then Options, then the General tab and uncheck the startup option at the top
there.

I don't think I'm doing anything that I need Windows Messenger for.
I went into the msconfig file and unchecked the box. That seems like an easier thing to do
and to undo than going into the system registry.
Is there anything that's going to be loaded if I just uncheck the Windows Messaging item in
the Startup tab of the msconfig file?
