Greetings DT,
For audio/video? All of them (5000 - 65535 at least). Both incoming and outgoing.
Messenger assumes you will be using Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) which would automatically
open and forward the necessary ports for you. Couldn't really figure out the story on UPnP
on the SBG900 by googling quickly though.

Could anyone tell me how to configure my firewall correctly with Messenger
8.1 using a Motorola SBG900 modem? Specifically, I would like to know the
TCP/UDP ports used and which port configuration are inbound and outbound.
Microsoft support lists the ports but they don't tell me which ones are
outbound, inbound or both. I'm not able to use the video or audio because my
modem's firewall is blocking Messenger. Thanks in advance
