They will come online, then go offline. Can anyone help me with this?

OS(I think you are using WIN2000) - which messenger version - which version
of IE ?

The multiple posts may be because you are using that web interface which is
prone to all sorts of ridiculous behaviour :-)
Instead, try Microsoft newsgroups rather than that discussion group.
