Should I install Lv Mssgr 8.1 or another VOIP service

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I am considering installing the LvMssgr 8.1 and signing up for the verizon
web call serive at $.019 per minute. I am running XP with office 2007 and
outlook 2007 products. This decision is because a cell phone crashed and
was without serivce for 2 days while phone was replaced by the manufacturer.
I am in the field with a lap top and broadband card most of the day so this
appears to allow for a safty net at least if the event happens again. Also
thought that it could keep the cell usage down. Any insights or thought as
to this approach or how this service stacks up agianst skpe or vonage or
others ??
