Greetings,
Well, there is no MSN Messenger 7.51 but there is however an MSN Messenger
7.5. Unfortunately 7.5 is no longer able to sign in due to a security bug.
Your options are MSN Messenger 7.0:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=cf49c56c-8b3e-4eae-9904-9505f47bed45
Windows Live Messenger 8.1:
http://get.live.com/messenger/overview
or Windows Live Messenger 8.5 (beta 2):
http://get.live.com/WL/all
All but the last option will allow you to save to disk as you request.
Although I personally think 8.5 is the best version yet.
Note that none of these are an upgrade to Windows Messenger, as Windows
Messenger is considered a separate product. You can remove it, but Remote
Assistance, Whiteboard and Application Sharing will no longer work within
Windows Live Messenger. If that's okay with you, simply uninstall by
clicking the Start button, then click Run and type in
(copy-paste if you like):
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Then click OK.
Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and
screenshots, go to,
