no messenger window, yet running in task manager.

For some reason, my msn messenger will not launch (no window) in xp. I
see it running in task manager on the process tab, and I am able to
use it fine from my other xp user account, just not from my "normal"
one. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest, AS and AV scan
too for good measure, no luck. Suggestions please.
