Hello,

this depends on which version you use.
Under MSN Messenger, right-click the contact. In the context menu, click
"Profile".
Under Live Messenger, right-click the contact, and in the context menu, go
to View and then click onto Profile.

If you still can't view it, please let us know.

Greetings,
P. Di Stolfo

How do I view the profile of a contact? I'm sure I used to be able to
click on it to see it

There isn't the option when I right click - the only options are send
instant message, start voce /video, send file, send email ask for remote
assistance, start application sharing, start whiteboard, block, copy, move
/block contact, delete,/ block contact, properties - which just brings up
email address

.
