Hello,
Not a solution, but you can avoid using Remote Assistance (its a pain with
firewalls) and use the free Crossloop instead

I am attempting to use the Remote Assistance feature of Messenger Live
version 8.1 and am running in difficulties. I did an initial test on my
own
home network and was able to access the desktop of my second machine.
I need to access computer B (in another state) from computer A (my
machine).
When A attempts to access B, the connect for Remote Assistance never
completes. It just says attempting to connect. However B can access A's
desktop. I assumed it was a firewall issue on B's machine, but when we
disabled the firewall completely, A still could not access B's desktop.
Both computers are running Windows XP SP2 with Windows Live Messenger 8.1.
Both machines are using a DSL connection. Any ideas or suggestions on
how
to make the remote assistance work properly?
