Cannot Install Messenger

Hi Everyone,

I was running Windows Messenger until two weeks ago and everything was
good as gold. I was even using the Microsoft Lifecam to talk to my
mates around the world.

However, last week when I tried to log in, it wouldn't let me. I tried
for a couple of hours over and over again, but in vain. So I thought
I'd uninstall and reinstall again (I am not an IT person, so I figured
this should be the bravest option). I removed the Messenger using the
control panel Add/Remove Programs.

After this, I tried to log on to the Live Messenger website to
download the latest version (using IE8) - but my browser simply
wouldn't go into this website. I then tried www.microsoft.com and it
wouldn't let me do that either. So I tried some other websites
including Google, BBC and CNN and just in case, I also stumbled into
an obscure East African voodoo site - and behold - they worked fine -
so it wasn't my internet connection after all!!! Thought I'd download
my Messenger probably from a link in Hotmail - but it wouldn't go to
hotmail either. Seems its does not like any Microsoft affiliated
sites.

I do need to install Messenger, because I reckon its fantastic. But I
am at my wits end and don't know what to do.

Can anyone help?

Cheers
Ken
