remove default emoticons (or at least the shortcut)

My issue is about windows live messenger (latest version).
I want challenge you in finding a way to remove the default emoticons.
Infact I wish to use the classic shortcut I am accustomed to use in all
forum or chat, for example :) or :D , with MY personal emoticon; any idea?
