Re: Windows Messenger and Yahoo Messenger

Hi Dave,

This is actually by design. Windows Live Messenger is just MSN Messenger renamed which is an
entirely separate product and team within Microsoft. The team was actually split up (Windows
Messenger to the Windows team and MSN Messenger to MSN) in early 2002 and since then have
been separate applications.

The Windows Messenger team no longer exists now though.

It's okay I found the answer on google - I've "upgraded" to Windows Live
Messenger. Strange installation process though because it didn't actually
upgrade it, it just installed Live Messenger so that I ended up with two
Messenger programs, and had to uninstall Windows Messenger afterwards!
Weird.

Dave
