Indeed. So I guess (and I realize this is completely and absolutely laughable) a workaround
is to maximize the window and close it (Esc is a fast way) before the scroll bar appears.
Looks like the problem might be in the RichEdit control given the crash data. If we're
lucky, it may get fixed by Redmond with a new build although I haven't heard anything.

I also posted under your topic to help discribe the problem i am having with5.1.0701. I can tell Messenger to run anyway and it will, it will even let me
log in and will appear to work and function fine. The problem comes when a
chat inside a chat window is large enough to require the use of a scroll bar,
that is when the program crashes.
