Windows Messenger 4.7 and Windows Live Messenger are separate products and therefore one
doesn't replace the other.
You can remove Windows Messenger though after you install Windows Live Messenger (but Remote
Assistance, Whiteboard and Application Sharing won't work without reinstalling it).

When I load messenger live will it update to this or just leave the old
version on the computer????????????I want to update so there is not 2
versions of messenger on my system.
