There is no way of telling. That is the whole purpose of 'blocking' contacts so you can't see them. While it is nice to talk to people on messenger they are entitled to some privacy and one of the easiest ways of doing that is temporarility blocking those people you don't want to disturb you. Yes you can set your status as away etc, but people still send me messages even when i set my status to away.
