Greetings,
Just open the main contact list, then click the "Manage your contacts"/"Sort your contacts"
(depending on version) icon which looks like two arrows to the right of the 'Find a contact
or number' field. Then choose Show Details or Show Contacts' Details (depending on version)
to get the larger versions which show the display picture.

I have messenger 8.0 installed on two computers signing in to the same
profile. On one system the contact icons are large and display the contact's
custom image if they have elected to use one. On the other computer, the
icons are small and only my custom contact image icon is shown. Both
computers have the option enabled to show contact pictures, but it is not
working on the second computer. I seem to remember seeing an option for large
or small contact icons and that large must be selected in order to show the
contact icon images but I can no longer find it on either system.
How can I enable contact images to be displayed within Messenger?
