Signing In Failed Because of a Problem Connecting to Service

Anyone know what could be causing this error? We just opened a new site
location and network connectivity is working fine but when setting people up
for Exchange Messaging we cannot get them signed in successfully.

The following message is received: "Signing in to Microsoft Exchange
Instant Messaging failed because of a problem connecting to the service."

They are able to open Outlook in online mode and it is completely functional
with the Exchange server. They are signed on to the domain.
