Re: How to set Internet Explorer as default browser and HTML reader?

Greetings ***,

For a "quick fix" to set both of these options back, just download and run this .reg file
from fellow MVP Ramish:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/IE_Default_Browser.reg

I believe you'll have to reboot (or log off and back on Windows) to see the changes.

However, you can set Internet Explorer back as the default browser by going to Add or Remove
Programs in the Control Panel, then choose "Set Program Access and Defaults" on the left then
click the arrow down button next to Custom, then choose Internet Explorer as your default web
browser and click OK.

Not that I'm trying to get rid of you, but if you have any further questions, just head on
over to the Internet Explorer newsgroup as they're better suited to answer Internet Explorer
queries (this is Windows Messenger newsgroup). You can find the group here:

I know just enough to get myself in trouble. A while back I found an option
somewhere that allowed me to change my default browser. I changed the
default to another browser and now I wish to change back to Internet
Explorer, but I have forgotten where to do this. How do I do this?

Also, where do I set Internet Explorer to be may default HTML editor?
Thank you.
