Neat, hopefully Messenger will be the same at some point too.

Thanks for your suggestion. We both loaded Skype and it all worked
seamlessly. I'm on my XP going through wireless and my daughter is on her
iMac also wireless.
Very cool.
Thanks again for your help.

Greetings,
Using AIM on your side and iChat on the Mac should work, although connectivity can
sometimes
be a problem. It's been hit or miss everytime I've tried it, nevermind the quality has
been
absolutely terrible (at least on the AIM side).
If you're looking for a solution that "just works", you might want to try
Skype(www.skype.com) as has both Mac and PC versions that are compatible with one another.

I'm running a Sony Vaio with XP Home Edition, Windows Live Messenger and AIM
v.5.9.3861 and a Microsoft LifeCam, latest release, and Daughter has a new
iMac with it's camera and iChat.
We can text chat with either Messenger or AIM but can't seem to do video or
voice. I believe the iMac version of Messenger doesn't support video. Both
of us are using wireless but we've also directly connected to our broadband
modems in order to try to solve this. We've also turned off all the security
and firewall in a test.
Is this a Microsoft/Apple incompatibility issue or is there a trick I need
to know?
Thanks in advance
