windows xp, messengers crash

Hi
I have Windows XP OS and am connected to the 'net over a broadband
connection. Whenever I begin a voice chat on yahoo or msn live; and
whenever the person at the other end starts to stream their webcam, my
yahoo messenger crashes. Is it some xp related issue. The yahoo
messenger is the latest version. I would appreciate all help. Thanks!
