1 unread mail

I don't know whether anyone knows the answer to this but I have looked
everywhere for an answer. I logged on with a friends account onto messenger
live. everytime I see the log on screen now it shows me that I have 1
unread mail message under HIS hotmail account. I have deleted his account
from messenger but I can't get rid of this " 1 unread mail message".

Can anyone help?

Thanks
