There is no such thing as a "block checker". These are spam-ridden malware which should be
avoided.
There is one small "hole" in Messenger that may allow people to see if you're online (and
it's not the default). To make sure that your account has this off, click the Tools menu,
then Options, then Privacy category and make sure that "All others" is in the Blocked list.
If it isn't, move it there by clicking on it and choosing Block >>.

I have a question about this block checker. A friend was telling me about and
I understand a person from my MSN messenger list has the ability to check and
see if I have them blocked, but what I would like to know is if a person from
my list can also tell if I have my status set to offline?
