problem with yahoo messenger 7 with voice

When I try to call, i can hear the other party pretty well, but he
hears my voice with echoes. Im using a built in soundcard and a pentium
1.4 mhz. Is this caused by the soundcard? If im going to buy a
soundcard what would be the best for my needs at the least price. My
primary purpose is for yahoo messenger voice.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
