Greetings,
This is actually a feature. To remove this, click Start, then click Run and enter
"regedit.exe" and click OK. Then navigate (it's like Windows Explorer) to My
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\yourmsnname@xxxxxxxxxxx
Where yourmsnname@xxxxxxxxxxx is the passport. Double-click the MessageCount and enter 0 as
the value (this will set back to none). Then click OK, close the registry editor, and log out
to see the change.

I'm running Windows XP and have four accounts that one can log into. I have a
friend who will log on under one of the accounts and check his Hotmail
account. After he is done and I go to the logon screen, it will say "xx
unread messages" and if I click on this link it will show his email addrsss
that he used. How do I get rid of this without him coming back and logging
back on and reading all of his messages? I thought I found the solution one
time where I deleted his Passport account in a setting, but I can't seem to
find where I did that now. And again I reminded my wife not to let people use
my computer when i'm not around:)
Thanks
.
