Re: Exclusive chat

Greetings Charlie,

Unfortunately in Windows Messenger you can't actually sign in as Offline and then talk to
your contacts.

However, Windows Live Messenger 8 (beta) has this feature. To try it out, go here:

i am a new user of windows messenger and what a great facility it is. My
problem is that when i want to chat to just one person, other well meaning
friends are asking me questions and I feel guilty that I don't want to chat
to them at this time. How can I sign in as Appear off line, before I sign in
and then how can i chat with just my selected target without the others
seeing that i am on line? I am sorry to ask what i am sure is a basic
question but while I am experimenting I am offending friends by not
responding to them.
Thanks
Charlie
