You can also do this directly in Messenger..
Go to Options, and select Messages.
Under "Message History", put a check in the box "Automatically keep a
history of my conversations"
Do not check the box "show my last converstations...", as this will alert
her that a history is being saved.
Then set up the location where the history files are to be saved.
When you want to view the history, just go to that history saved location
(with Windows Explorer) and open the History folder: there will be an XML
file for each person she was in contact with, and it will be appended every
time she communicates with that person. If you double click on the file, it
will open up in Internet Explorer.
Of course, if she is a computer savvy 12-year old, you may know all this,
and disable it behind your back. And, setting this option on, will of course
only show you the history from that point on, not what she did previously.
But, hey, try it anyway.
