It sounds like some sort of driver issue here with your audio drivers (since Video
Conversation starts audio also). You might want to visit WindowsUpdate to see if there are
any driver updates for your audio hardware:

Please, please someone help me!!! Everytime I ttruy to use my webcam, it
switches my laptop off completely, even if I use it just for voice
conversation. My laptop goes off spontaeneously, but, as soon as u plug in
the camera and try to use it, within 2-3 minutes, it just switches off. Any
ideas please.
