Darlynn:
You have to set the router (6100) to bridge mode. I have attached the
two links that I used. Just remember that if you have set any advanced
setting that is to say port forwarding and or dmz stuff set it back before
you go through these steps. Also remember that if you have Verizon DSL then
be prepared to wait upto two (2) hours for you dhcp to renew on your dsl
router I'm assuming you are using another dsl router that is more easily
configured, like a D-Link, or Linksys or Netgear...I would not bridge your
6100 and then hook it directly to your PC because then your PC gets a live
internet address when your DHCP is finally able to renew any way just follow
these two links, there is a step by step and even one with pictures of the
6100 setup screens.

and don't panic it really does take upto two hours..and the release renew
doesn.t work on the 6100. You can always set everything back to factory
setting with the reset switch on the back.
Hope this helps

have the same modem and am currently having issues with remote access.
Thanks

I fought this for weeks, at first I thought it was a software issue
with
Windows OneCare Live, it took me quite some time that my problem was
attributed to my Westell 6100 dsl device. Don't know if you are using
one,
just thought I would pass it along in case it might help
